Tasks:

  1. Use the prompt below to discuss Chapter 5 CAFE
  2. Develop a guided writing lesson on writing scholarly (word choice, reducing wordiness, writing concisely, reducing repetition, removing vague words, etc...). The grade level for this lesson can be K-12 or undergrad). For this task, use your guided writing lesson plan template created in class. Remember to have the four sections of a guided writing lesson (refer to article).
  3. Run the intro and topic 1 through Grammarly or another writing check program
  4. Revise and edit for concise and scholarly writing (after Wednesday's writing concisely activity)

  • A few of the conference examples in this chapter provide a picture of the conferring form after the conference is over (figures 5.1 – 5.4). Select an example that does not have a form pictured, and practice as though you were the teacher in the example. What would you write down?
