Wartburg College has a 3+1 Program with Allen College. Students attend Wartburg for 3 years and complete Allen College's Accelerated BSN program. After completion of both, students earn a Wartburg degree in Biology or Neuroscience and the BSN from Allen College.

The Admissions Counselor at Allen College is:

Logan Mundt (starting Oct. 19, 2020)

Students may also do 2 years at Wartburg and 2 years at Allen. In this case, the student would earn only the BSN from Allen College (no Wartburg degree).

The Erna H. Thompson Scholarship will reimburse pre-nursing students for the cost of getting their CNA. Students must have declared a 3+1 major for nursing, and must provide documentation of completing the CNA course as well as a receipt. The scholarship will be applied to the student's next Wartburg College bill. For example, if a student takes a CNA course in the summer of 2020 and provides the required documentation, the reimbursement will appear as a credit on the Fall 2020 Wartburg College bill. There is no set number of scholarships given per year; scholarships will be awarded as long as there are funds available for that fiscal year.

Contact Dr. Toering Peters if you wish to apply for this scholarship.

Students must take the TEAS exam before they apply to Allen College. Information on the TEAS exam is available here:
