Developmental process of language acquisition, including linguistic analysis of the major phonological, semantic, syntactic, pragmatic components of American English. Emphasis on language variations related to cultural and linguistic diversity, the unique needs and backgrounds of students with language differences and delays, and the learning of Standard English by all learners.
