An adventurous day, full of travel delays, lost luggage, and - finally - good wine and a soft bed. 22 of us traveled together from the States, joined on this side of the Atlantic by Kathy Traetow, who'd been visiting friends in Germany; Tim Ewest, who'd been in Norway; and the Colsons, who'd been having meetings in Eisenach for a few days.
We're staying in a lovely, brand new facility called "Colleg Wittenberg" built expressly to house student groups: lodging, dining room, classrooms, bicycles, and wifi.
Best travel story so far may be Sally Malcolm's sob story that got the Berlin - Wittenberg train conductor to let a group of five ride for free. Well, perhaps the real story is why five of them were on a train to begin with, instead of the bus with the rest of us. But I'll let someone else tell that story tomorrow, after we've slept ...
